We have a lot coming at us while we do the pressing work of every day.

Thanks to our state partner Massachusetts Housing and Shelter Alliance and our several national partners, we can hone our actions and be counted quickly and powerfully.

We must act on two fronts: (1) to stop HUD from enacting policies that will threaten housing for hundreds of thousands; and (2) to urge Congress to pass FY26 spending bills that will reject cuts to HUD and protect crucial housing programs.

1. Sign on your organizationto this Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) letter to Tell Congress to Protect 170,000 Households from Losing Their Home(by end of day Wed., 11/19)

2. Sign and send this National Alliance to End Homelessness letter to your Congresspeople urging their action to stop this attack on federal homelessness funding.

3. Sign on your organization to this National Low Income Housing Coalition (NLIHC) letter urging Congress to enact FY26 spending bills that reject cuts to HUD programs and instead provide the highest level of funding possible.

4. Sign on as an individual constituent to this NLIHC letter urging Congress to do the same.

See MHSA’s two-page overview of what’s at stake with HUD’s current proposals to drastically change policies for our Continuum of Care funding.  In western MA alone, we have over 400 people at risk of losing their housing.  Statewide, that number climbs to more than 3,800, nationwide to 170,000.

Please act now!
