The Joint Committee on Revenue will hear testimony on a top Network priority tomorrow: the real estate transfer fee for affordable housing (S.1771/H.2747). Big thanks to our western MA Senator Jo Comerford for her lead sponsorship!
While the hearing will take place in Boston, testifying virtually is an option as well. You can register until 5 pm today to testify – see all the details here: https://malegislature.gov/Events/Hearings/Detail/4734. I will also testify on behalf of the Network.
Just as important (and likely more possible!) is to submit written testimony in support of the bill. Thanks to the Local Option for Affordable Housing Coalition, we have a template for testimony HERE. You can adapt and send to: [email protected]. When you send your written testimony, please either cc or bcc me at [email protected] so that the Coalition can keep track for future advocacy efforts. FYI, the Network’s written testimony is here. Written testimony can be submitted up until the bill is voted upon but sooner is better.
