Today, the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (HLC) announced awards of $9.9 million statewide in supplemental grants for shelter providers, municipalities, and community-based organizations to open or expand seasonal shelter bed capacity. In our western region, the awards totaled $1.45 million across Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin and Berkshire Counties.

Please read HLC’s press release here with the list of awards included.  In addition to these funding allocations, the City of Greenfield/Franklin County/N Quabbin Opioid Task Force received other HLC funds (exact amount to be confirmed) to support its proposal to provide emergency winter shelter/support services across the Franklin/N. Quabbin region.

With thanks to HLC Secretary Ed Augustus and the entire HLC team, the Network looks forward to supporting our partners’ implementation of these resources to keep as many individuals as safe as possible during these winter months.

Please stay tuned for additional information on how to access these resources in the coming weeks.
