We have two new opportunities to pursue family supportive housing in the region.
1.  The Hampden County Continuum of Care is hosting a meeting on Friday, October 5 at 10 am at the Springfield Office of Housing at 1600 E. Columbus Ave., to discuss allocation of federal McKinney resources to create permanent supportive housing for homeless families in which one or more person has a disability.  All are welcome.

2.  The MA Department of Housing and Community Development released its RFR Project-Based Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP) Supportive Housing Initiative (SHI) For Families.   Below is DHCD’s summary description:

The Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) is pleased to announce the availability of 150 housing vouchers from the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (MRVP) to serve homeless families. These vouchers will be made available to owners of existing rental properties or rental properties that will come online within three (3) months of receiving an MRVP award. An owner receiving these project-based MRVP vouchers must be able to provide case management and stabilization services or partner with an organization that has experience with successfully stabilizing homeless and/or very low income households. Together, the project-based MRVP voucher and the supportive services make up the components of the Supportive Housing Initiative (SHI).
