TD Bank Conference Center
1441 Main Street, Springfield

Special guests to present and discuss the plan include:

  • Shara Katsos, Deputy Homeless Coordinator, VA VISN 1
In March 2013, Lt. Governor Timothy Murray released the first Massachusetts Integrated Plan to Prevent and End Homelessness Among Veterans. Since then, the Steering Committee overseeing implementation has begun engaging partners across the Commonwealth to assist with achieving our goal of reducing the number of homeless veterans at a point in time by 1,000 by 2015. The plan has four main strategies to reach that goal related to (1) housing, (2) prevention, (3) intervention, and (4) partnerships.
Specifically, the plan acknowledges the critical importance of the Regional Networks to End Homelessness and the HUD Continua of Care in implementing the action items and developing localized strategies. The Steering Committee and the Partnerships Working Group is scheduling meetings with all of the Regional Networks and CoCs to provide a briefing on the plan and facilitate a strategy session for how state and federal agencies can partner with communities to achieve our goal. This meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss the plan in detail, share ideas on how to build off existing efforts, and identify outstanding information or technical assistance that government partners can offer communities.
Please RSVP  to Pamela Schwartz, Network coordinator, at [email protected].
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there!
