The Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development has released it request for responses (RFR) for the Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) Program.  The state ESG program provides  up to $2,510,228 annually to meet the following needs:

  1. Shelter Operation Costs, such as rent, fuel and food to increase emergency and transitional shelter capacity;
  2. Homeless Prevention and Diversion Services to prevent episodes of homelessness and divert people from shelter; and
  3. Essential Services to help individuals and families transition to permanent housing.

The RFR is available on Comm passNote: this RFR is not for the state Homeless Prevention and Rapid Rehouse Program (HPRP) funds.  The state HPRP RFR does not appear to have been released yet.
