The Interfaith Council of Franklin County is hosting a Shelter Summit, including representatives from government, housing, social services, health care, business, education, media and the faith community on:

Wednesday, December 2, 2009
3:00 – 6:00 pm

The objective of the meeting is to establish the Franklin County Community Shelter Fund and Volunteer Corps that in the immediate term will work to keep the emergency shelter open and establish a temporary winter overflow shelter and in the longer term will work to obtain the necessary support for permanent housing solutions and the support services that go with them.

Father Stan Aksamit, a Network Leadership Council member, is chairing this effort.  Network coordinator Pamela Schwartz will present the Network’s resources and vision at the summit.

For further information or to RSVP to attend, please contact Father Aksamit at [email protected] or 413-863-2585 ext. 20.  Please spread the word.
