The National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week takes place the week November 15 – November 21, the week before Thanksgiving. Our Network’s Steering Committee decided it will seize this opportunity to write and distribute an opinion editorial to the major dailies in the region (Springfield Republican, Daily Hampshire Gazette, Greenfield Recorder and Berkshire Eagle), adapted and signed by locally based Leadership Council members. Special thanks to Gerry McCafferty for creating the starting template.
At the same time, we encourage providers and activists to use this national awareness week as you are able to draw attention to this issue and our responses to it. The National Coalition for the Homeless has produced a manual with ideas and suggestions. Please click here to find it.
