Part-time (second shift) Resident Advocate for male shelter.
Duties include:
- Greeting visitors & potential residents and ascertains their needs
- Answering the phone; making proper referrals
- Oversees cleanliness & security of the house
- Distributes/stores clean laundry
- Under the supervision of the Shelter Manager, teaches residents proper care for their person & surroundings in order to enhance their self-image
- Assists in the recreational activities of the residents
- Maintains a log of activities during each shift
- Other related duties
QUALIFICATIONS
High School graduation or equivalent required. Ability to relate to people necessary. Skill in common sense application of general instructions to specific problems required.

Community Engagement Coordinator (to work in Springfield including on public health initiative)
HAPHousing™ is seeking a Community Engagement Coordinator to promote the revitalization of target neighborhoods in Springfield and to collaborate in launching a public health initiative in the Old Hill neighborhood. The Coordinator will provide expertise, resources, leadership, and assistance in developing and implementing neighborhood revitalization plans and in nurturing resident engagement and leadership.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, be bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and be motivated to support leadership development and engage with community members to improve their neighborhoods. Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in relevant subject matter such as social services, community development or public health; minimum of 3 years of experience in relevant field is required. Two years of management experience and bi-lingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Wage $18.88 – $22.65/hr depending on education and experience plus excellent benefits.

Community Engagement Manager (to work in new Holyoke office)
HAPHousing™ is seeking a Community Engagement Manager to work with residents to promote the revitalization of target neighborhoods and to manage a Holyoke satellite office that will expand and enhance HAPHousing services in Holyoke. The Manager will work with staff from several departments to offer comprehensive services to Holyoke residents. Working with an Advisory Board and community members, the Manager will provide expertise, resources, leadership, and assistance in developing and implementing neighborhood revitalization plans and in nurturing resident engagement and leadership.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and communication skills, be bi-lingual (English/Spanish) and be motivated to foster collaboration among program staff to offer a range of services to Holyoke residents and to engage with community members to improve their neighborhoods. Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in relevant subject matter such as social services, community development or planning; minimum of 3 years’ experience and minimum 2 years management experience and Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) required. Salary between $44,589 – $55,736 depending on education and experience plus excellent benefits.
