Individual Shelter Expansion to Meet Winter Needs

The Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC) has posted a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) here:  https://www.commbuys.com/bso/external/bidDetail.sdo?docId=BD-24-1076-OCDDE-HS003-95688&external=true&parentUrl=close.   This NOFA is for one time only grants to support costs associated with expanding shelter and Permanent Supportive Housing capacity. Possible examples include (but are not limited to) facility improvements to increase capacity, staffing for winter overflow shelter or warming center, and one time purchase of material goods for newly funded winter shelters such as cots, mattresses, linens and cooking necessities.

Responses will be reviewed on a rolling basis with the initial bid opening date of December 26, 2023.  More detailed information about eligible activities, how to apply, the calendar, bidders conference and how to submit questions are all contained within the NOFA documents.

Family Shelter Safety Net Grant Program

The Healey Administration (via the EOHLC) has partnered with United Way of Massachusetts Bay to distribute $5 million to community-based organizations (CBOs) to support emergency overnight shelter and necessities for extremely low-income families with children and pregnant people who have an urgent and immediate need for emergency shelter.Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.  For more information and the application go to: https://unitedwaymassbay.org/impact/crisis-response/shelter-grant
