The Third Annual Massachusetts Fatherhood Leadership Summit is fast approaching! If you have not registered, please do so by replying to this email no later than December 1. We look forward to seeing you on December 12.

Dear Colleague:

You are cordially invited to the Third Annual Massachusetts Fatherhood Leadership SummitWorking with Fathers for Child Safety and Well-Being, onFriday, December 12, 2014 from 9:30 am – 4:00 pm at the Boston Sheraton Hotel, 39 Dalton Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02199. Registration and continental breakfast begin at 8:30 am.

This event will bring together executive level leadership and middle management representatives from inside and outside of government with fathers and leaders in fatherhood engagement throughout Massachusetts. The Summit’s purpose is to raise awareness about the research and benefits of engaging fathers in their children’s lives; to identify challenges that fathers face in engaging with their children/families; and to develop strategies across systems to support fathers to safely, consistently, and with evidence-based support, engage with their children/families.

The keynote speaker for the Summit is Michael M. Smith, a social work supervisor with over twenty years experience at the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, and who is deeply engaged in fatherhood initiatives at his department. In his keynote address, he will screen the powerful video Show Your Love: Presence Matters. The keynote address will be followed by a panel presentation and discussion with fathers and mothers who have direct experience inMassachusetts public systems.

This year, we also will offer a number of workshops, including Social and Emotional Development in Children Birth to 12 Years Old; Do Fathers Hold the Key to Solving America’s Obesity Epidemic?; and The Virtual Visitor Program for Incarcerated Fathers, a program of The Fatherhood Project at MGH.

Seating is limited, so please RSVP by December 1, 2014 by sending an email to: [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you on December 12th.

Sincerely,

Fatherhood Leadership Summit Planning Committee
