Over 100 Network partners from across the four Western counties gathered at Holyoke Community College on January 28, 2020, to learn about how the state budget and laws get made and the difference they make in our effort to prevent and end homelessness.

Led by Attorney Annette Duke of the Mass. Law Reform Institute, the group began with a “power mapping” exercise (see photo below) to learn about our own legislators and the resulting constituency power in the room. And we learned how we can use that power in our work and in our community. Check out the complete Budget and Policy Training Powerpoint for more information. And here are the Quick Tips on Calling your Legislator.

We will be putting all of that learning to great use – stay tuned for the next action steps!

Power-mapping!
