Background:
On July 10, TOPA passed the House as part of its Economic Development Bill.
The Senate Ways and Means Committee just released their version of the Economic Development bill, and the Senate will start debate on it on Wednesday, July 22.
TOPA’s legislative champion, Senator Pat Jehlen, filed an amendment to include TOPA in the Senate’s version of the bill. While the House bill included an older version of TOPA, Senator Jehlen’s Amendment is the most recent version of TOPA and includes many improvements made over the multiple sessions that TOPA has been introduced.
It’s critical now to keep TOPA moving forward in the Senate.
