DHCD has recently announced the availability of funds to support a second annual point-in-time count of homeless youth.  Awards up to $5000 will be made available to CoCs to support the count.

For those who will work with CoC’s to design and conduct the count, there is a learning opportunity on conducting a homeless point-in-time count coming up this Friday.  The National Alliance to End Homelessness is hosting a wosting a webinar September 19 at 1:30 pm.  From the NAEH announcement:

The webinar, “Prepare for the 2015 Point-in-Time Count: Enumerating Unsheltered Youth,” will cover everything from useful planning tactics, guidance from HUD on conducting reliable unsheltered counts of homeless youth, to PIT Count implementation. During the webinar, leaders from communities that span urban, suburban, and rural areas will share their most effective PIT Count strategies
